The Chickys
(Switzerland, Italy / Mirror Entree)

Bruno Stutz

Copied often. Regarding their originality - never reached:
The Chickys. Since more than 40 years "classics" in the area
of comedy the always bring fun to the audience new gags.
This time with a funny and full of spirit presented mirror entree.
At this, no eye will remain dry. The synchronization of the
movements between dull "August" and the authoritarian white
clown cares for boundless cheerfulness. Who doesn't laugh
here won't laugh anywhere else. Their humour comes from
hearts and it never is roughly or really hurtfully. Provided with
many ideas, they raise on the distance between audience and
the ring and look after the quite large laughter.

The Chickys - just a class of themselves.

A world without clowns would be poor, a
circus without clown impossible.
For the
three thorough-bred artistes "beeing-clown"
is their life's work. Bruno (62) from Geneva
embodies the classical white clown: a little
dominant, apparently arrogant but always
with one slight wink and much of "Grandezza"
Both come from "private" and were born
in a civil milieu.
1957 they allied themselves
to the Clown duet "Les Chickys" and started
their steep career. Wonderful characters,
which complete themselves splendidly with
their apparent contrasts.

The Chickys

He only needs 30 minutes each
day to change himself into a
lovable jester: a little white,
a little black and a little red...
Eugen Altenburger (75) from Rapperswil
in Switzerland doesn't play the "August",
he is the "August". Lovable, dull and
really funny.

Third party in the federation is, the charming and elegant Lady
Patrizia de Jonghe (58) the wife of Bruno Stutz. She dates from
an old Belgian circus family. The two had got themselves to know
in Berlin. At that time she filled the audience with enthusiasm on the
high wire as Patricia Percelly. Meanwhile, their common son Serge
is a celebrated tennis juggler and as the parents at home on all stages
and rings of the world. But what's the special thing with these artistes?
O
n the one hand they mention the psyche of children and adults in a
similar manner. On the other hand they manage to build up a field of
tension in the ring between sympathy and antipathy, and to resolve
the resulted conflict at once and legendarily funny. Their humour
comes from hearts and never is rough or hurtful. Easily the take
"children of all age-groups" to the laughter and drive away the
worries of the weekday.

A clown legend say goodbye.
The last station of a matchless

career ought to be here in Krone.
Once more the Chicky's run up
to their comedian top form to prove,
how timeless good comedy can be.

"Time to say goodbye"
from the messengers of
pleasure and cheeriness.

And time to say thanks.
Thanks for endless minutes
laugh, weep and amazement.
Beautiful that you were here.

The new Chickys

"In real life, the clowns are the serious people, contrarily
to the serious people, who never stop to play the clown."
