Our Animals - Exotic Animals - Boar

Boar Fritzi - New addition to Circus Krone
A gift of love - appropriately presented on Valentines day 2007
A gift of love - appropriately presented on Valentines day 2007 With great pride,
the Circus Krone
Zoo would like to
announce our
newest acquisition:
young boar who goes
by the name of FRITZ
(10 months old, 50
kg heavy) from Bad
Dürkheim. Fritzi was
found when he was
a small pig, about
one day old, by
Butcher Rolf Hess
in his garden and
raised. Nobody had
thought that Fritzi
would survive and
prosper except his
foster father Rolf.
The small boar
prospered well.
In spite of that his
foster father decided
on a transfer of his
"house anima" to
Circus Krone as he
expects him to achieve
a weight of 350 kg in
a few months.
The only condition for the presents distribution: no roasted pig à la Obelix, no Boar ragout and also
no Schweineschnitzel. These conditions were gladly met by Circus Krone and an edict was issued
prohibiting the entrance of Fritzi's shed by the cook !!!

Boar Fritzi and his foster father Rolf Fritzi likes biscuits
Fritzi likes biscuits, mashed potatoes and tasty shoe laces. He gladly jumps into every
pond, likes to swim and is on his way to becoming the most beloved star of Circus Krone.
The family pig will learn quickly and will soon become part of the large Circus-Krone-Family.

The highly intelligent, smart and slightly overweight omnivorous animal
is very photogenic and endured his first photo shooting with utmost grace.

Circus Krone thanks foster father Rolf Hess for his wonderful present. Normally
a butcher sells pork. But with this foster-father everything was different. He found
the small Fritzi and raised him. Eventually, Fritzi became too large for the chicken
shed. "In addition the neighbors complained about the odor". Thus, the good people
of Bad Dürkheim were contacted. Unfortunately, the poor pig was rejected by zoos
and animal homes and even the animal protection society.
It was no easy decision for Rolf Hess and his charge
Butcher Hess was sceptical when he approached Circus Krone. Fortunately, a boar
was lacking in the animal family of the Circus Krone - and so Fritzi has found a new
home and a new foster father: Pietro Bento.

It was no easy decision for Rolf Hess and his charge.
"It was clear there was no way I could keep him. But it was difficult nevertheless".
Fortunately Fritzi feels at home.
It was clear there was no way I could keep him. But it was difficult nevertheless.
And as soon as he has become more domesticated, he will become part of the animal
revue of the circus. So don't be surprised to you find yourselves witnessing the playful
antics of of a boar within the confines of the Circus Krone big top.
Here you see his initial contacts to his "pig colleagues" upon the first training unit.
And with that he will become a splendid lucky pig. Welcome to Circus Krone!
